Bolbitis heudelotii, also known as African water fern or Congo fern, is a species of aquatic fern found in Africa. It is a popular plant in the aquarium hobby due to its attractive appearance and ease of care.

Bolbitis heudelotii has a rhizomatous growth habit, meaning it spreads by sending out horizontal stems called rhizomes. It typically grows to a height of 10-20 inches (25-50 cm) and has long, narrow leaves that can reach up to 18 inches (45 cm) in length. The leaves are dark green in color and have a glossy texture.

In the aquarium, Bolbitis heudelotii can be grown attached to rocks or driftwood, or planted directly in the substrate. It prefers low to moderate lighting and a neutral pH range of 6.5-7.5. It is a slow-growing plant that requires little maintenance, but will benefit from occasional fertilization and CO2 supplementation.
